Katie Hinderer

Freelance Writer, Blogger, Social Media Specialist (Boston, MA)

I entered Marquette as a shy freshman who, oddly enough, wanted to be a journalist. Thanks to more than three years working for The Tribune, two internships, a few freelance assignments and dedicated MU professors, I morphed into a driven professional. After graduation, Gail Collins, an alum, gave me my first job. With her mentoring, I began carving a niche for myself in online reporting, blogging and social media. People ask if I could have gotten the same journalism education elsewhere? Possibly. But I wouldn’t have the MU connection that has given me countless opportunities over the years.
