Columnist at SI.com and Author (Connecticut)
Iím eternally grateful to Marquette and its journalism program for making a writer of me. I got my first byline as a freshman, above a Tribune story on intramural flag football, a beat I abandoned after one game. (If I close my eyes, I can still hear the ripping Velcro.) I knew then that I wanted to write for a living, and would have preferred to take all my classes at Johnston Hall, where the journalism instructors were greatly responsible for making my dream a reality.
