Communicating in a World
of Noise

Wednesday, February 15
Monaghan Ballroom, 4 p.m.
Lecture presented by Dick Enberg (Sportscaster for CBS sports).

Come hear Enberg reflect on longtime broadcast partner Al McGuire’s “power of taking a right-hand turn,” as the sportscaster and play-by-play announcer circles back to Marquette and Milwaukee. He will also discuss the five personal powers of communication that he has used to enlighten and entertain radio and television audiences worldwide. Enberg is a 14-time Emmy Award winner, author of several books – including his most recent, named after his signature phrase, “Oh My!” - and author of the one-act play, “McGuire,” first performed at Marquette and featuring the wit and wisdom of McGuire, the legendary basketball coach.

The Pete and Bonnie Axthelm Memorial Program was established in 1994 at Marquette University to acknowledge and recognize the life of Pete Axthelm and his sister Bonnie. Every year this program awards a scholarship to an outstanding Marquette journalism student with an expressed interest in sports journalism.
