Updates for Upcoming Events

Here are
a couple of dates and events of possible upcoming
fundraising and volunteers activities later this spring! More
will be announed!
• T-shirts (PLEASE EMAIL one of us if you are interested in buying a Lambda Pi Eta t-shirt (probably around $15)...need to know how many to order) Please do this as soon as possible!
• Easter Bake Sale on Tuesday, April 11th!!! (Tentative location in Straz Hall Stairwell)
• Lambda Pi Spring Induction Ceremony Wednesday, April 19th at 7:00 (for new and old members - Location to be announced soon)
• Hunger Clean Up Saturday April 22...possible cookout following the event. Looking to coordinate this with the College of Communication Student Council - More details
• Cold-Stone Fundraising - we are looking into possible dates in late April
If you have any suggestions or thoughts, please let us know!

February Meeting Recap

For those of you
who couldn't make it last night here are some things we briefly
discussed:
• Creating Lambda Pi Eta t-shirts (around $12-15 each) We will probably be ordering them through Allstar Sportswear in West Allis. (current thinking is navy/royal blue and white lettering). If you have any suggestions, let us know...we would like to put in an order soon!)
• the Lambda Pi Eta webiste is now being housed through the College of Communication webserver. Eventually we would like to get alumni Lambda Pi Eta members contact information and possibly bringing some of those people in on campus as guest speakers to talk about jobs/careers associating with Communication Studies in the near future! So keep checking the website!
• Habitat for Humanity Volunteer Project (we would love for our group to get involved!!! Erin Jamieson will give us more information later)
• Spring Bake Sale/Cold Stone Fundraisers (Stay tuned for dates/times).
• Lambda Pi Eta Cookout during the week of April 21-23...social gathering!
• We talked about pairing up with the College of Communication Student Council and doing some activities with them as well. (Lindsay Kulla is a member of the council as well said that group would like to work with LPH!

Website has a new home

As of today, our chapter website has a
new home. We can now be found on the College of Communication
webserver. This move was made possible with support of both the
college administration (special thanks to Dr. Ana Garner, Interim
Dean and Nick Pumilia, Director of the Media Center) and IT
services (in particular, Mykl Novak, Web Development Manager for IT
Services). Please update all of your links and bookmarks.
First Meeting of Spring 2006 Semester Scheduled

The first meeting of the spring
semester will be held on February 8th at 6p in Cudahy 126. We will
be discussing potential service projects for the semester as well
as some fund-raising opportunities for our chapter. For more
information, contact any of the chapter officers or the Dr.
D'Urso.
