2008-09 LPH Officers
President-elect - Tiffany Imburgia
Vice-President-elect- Brittany Roskom
Secretary/Treasurer-elect - Christine Diedrick & Robyn Keuler*
*We had a tie for the position. The officers and I felt that both candidates could share the job until the position can be formally split in the fall. We have grown to the point that we had been considering this move already. Both agreed that this was a good solution.
Congratulations to the new officers!

Results will be announced at the 1st Annual LPH Spring Cookout and then published both on the website and via e-mail. If you have any specific questions for the candidates, please feel free to contact them. This election is open to all current members.
Candidate #1 - Tiffany Imburgia - At this point in time, how many of you can honestly say you know all the current Lambda Pi Eta members by name? For those of you who can, would you feel comfortable addressing any one of them on the street? I am running for the position of President because I believe Lambda Pi Eta is more than an honor society you join while in college and forget about after graduation. In order for us to promote professional development among our members, we need to first build relationships and truly get to know one another.
Being an active member in a sorority on campus, I have over two years of experience in planning and executing social and service events, and I would like to give Lamba Pi Eta members more of these types of opportunities to participate in each semester. I would love for our members to serve as role models and mentors for underclassmen in our major, and provide them with writing and public speaking assistance when needed.
Finally, I want our alum to stay informed and involved with Lambda Pi Eta. As an internal communication intern, one of my responsibilities is to help create and edit our company's monthly newsletter. I would like to create something similair to send out to our alum at the end of each semester to help keep them informed. Our alum are more than likely going to take jobs in the field of Communication after graduation and can serve as an excellent resource for those members seeking advice upon entering the job market.
Thank you for your time and thank you for considering me for the position of President.
Candidate #2 - Christine Diedrick - People seem to always ask me why I decided to not only come to Marquette University, but why I choose to major in Communication Studies. It’s hard for me to explain to these people just how much I love the classes and what I learn within my major. Being a member of LPH means that I am in a group of people who get just why Communication Studies is important and understand that being a part of this College not only requires time within the classroom, but time in service to others as well. I hope that as an officer of LPH I can share with others this joy for the studies we do in the classroom and the service we do outside as well. I am honored to be part of LPH and I would be honored to be an officer within it, proving to everyone the importance of what we learn, what we do, and who we are.
Candidate #3 - Robyn Keuler - I would like to be an officer for Lambda Pi Eta because I believe I have the qualifications to help LPH reach its full potential as an important part of the College of Communication. I honestly had never heard of LPH until I was invited to join, and I think that is something that can be changed. LPH needs to be something people join because they believe in its mission and its values- not just as a resume-builder. Spreading the word about LPH and focusing on recruitment is crucial.
I will admit that as a new member I am not very knowledgeable about LPH yet, but I am very excited to get to know the Beta Epsilon chapter. As a newly inducted member, I believe can bring a fresh set of ideas and a unique perspective to the organization. I am thrilled that LPH is service-oriented, and I would love to further develop that aspect of the chapter. I look forward to getting to know all the members and growing together as a team.
Candidate #4 - Brittany Roskom - My name is Brittany Roskom, and I just recently became part of this very prestigious honor society. Some of you may know me, but others may not because I am currently studying abroad in London. Although I am not currently at Marquette, I am extremely interested in becoming involved in Lambda Pi Eta as much as I possibly can, so I am running for the position of Vice President. Since my freshman year at Marquette I have tried to be involved in as many activities as possible. I have been historian to Cobeen’s hall council, Dance Inc. Secretary and Treasurer, dancer for Dance Inc., and choreographer. I also am a member of Alpha Phi Sorority and was an active participant of the Student Council of Communication as Secretary. Before I left for London for a semester, I also created and made the day-by-day calendar seen outside of the Johnston Hall elevators. When I am not actively involved in these great organizations, I work at the Brew Bayou as well as 94.5 WKTI, one of Milwaukee’s top radio stations. I feel that I am very qualified for this position because I am a very responsible and organized person. I am also very enthusiastic in every job and organization I am a part of. I feel that as Vice President of Lambda Pi Eta I will be able to bring a lot of enthusiasm and new ideas to an already tremendous organization. I am also very easy to get along with and will be able to work with everyone within the organization. Also after researching our chapter, I feel I would be able to assist the President and other members of the E-board with creating new and better social and service activities each semester. Studying aboard has allowed me to gain a new understanding of the world around me. The experiences that I have had studying aboard will allow me to share and incorporate new dimensions of international understanding. Thank you for considering me for the position of Vice President, and I look forward to returning home and working with a such a great group of people!
