Pulitzer winning journalist addresses Marquette community

David S. Broder, national political correspondent and columnist of the Washington Post, came to Marquette March 28 as the 2001 Lucius W. Nieman Lecturer.

In addition to delivering a public lecture, Broder spent the day on campus, meeting with students, faculty, and other members of the Marquette community. Broder, who has been referred to as "the moral compass of the press," discussed the state of American politics and the performance of the news media.

The Nieman Lectures and Nieman Symposia will feature a continuing series of events. They will bring to Marquette academic and professional leaders in the fields of journalism and public policy.
