Quinton Green

“I’m calling out to God, your little angel has fallen down, save me from my darkened cloud, reach your hands and arms around.” - Chance, the rapper

Chicago native Quinton Green came to Marquette’s Urban Journalism Workshop to become a better writer and gain experience, both of which will help him in his aspirations to become a graphic designer.

At his school, Urban Preparatory West Campus, he has taken a poetry class and has written several essays and stories. His experiences have made him a good writer, but this workshop is different and there is a lot he didn’t know about writing coming into it.

His current highlight of the program was the Milwaukee Brewer’s baseball game against the Toronto Blue Jays, where he helped interview and take pictures. Green looks forward to experiencing Summerfest and the Brewcity Bruisers women’s roller derby.

Coming into this workshop Green knew how to create videos and edit pictures, so the writing aspects of this program are the most helpful for him.

He is looking forward to applying the skills he learns in the future, no matter which possible career he pursues: graphic designer, writer or poet.
