ATTENDANCE

  • Please indicate your plans for attendance at Commencement by completing this RSVP form or calling University Special Events at 8-7431 by Friday, April 28
  • YOUR RESPONSE IS ESSENTIAL as a seat will be reserved for you on stage. The stage will not be overset with additional chairs. If you indicate you will attend and your plans change, contact University Special Events immediately. Empty seats onstage will not reflect well on the celebration of our graduates.

ACADEMIC APPAREL

  • If you need to rent academic apparel, complete the online order form or call Rick Hannig/Herff Jones at 262.363.3055 by Saturday, April 8.
  • If you are a member of the Society of Jesus or a non-salaried employee, you are eligible to receive rental apparel without charge. Please contact Rick Hannig (262.363.3055) to complete your order.
  • If you want to purchase a cap and gown and/or hood, please contact Rick Hannig immediately (262.363.3055.) Please allow at least eight weeks for delivery.

PARKING / ARRIVAL / ROBING ROOM / SEATING

  • We suggest you park in the Highland Garage located at 1030 N. 6th Street. The entrance is off of 6th Street. [See Fiserv Forum Campus Map.]
  • It is recommended you prepay for parking by going to this link for the Highland Garage.
  • After parking your car, head north out of the structure to the Service Entrance of Fiserv. [#9 on the map.] We suggest to bring only essentials with you and avoid totes or purses. If you are carrying a bag of any kind, you must enter through the Loading Dock door (#10 on the map) for extra security screening.
  • Faculty do not need tickets.
  • Bring your MUID in order to expedite your entrance through security. You will need to go through the walk-through metal detection upon entering. All bags will be scanned by security personnel upon entry.
  • The robing room for all faculty will be located in the Auxiliary Locker Room for both the morning and afternoon ceremonies. A volunteer will be on site to direct you to the robing room.
  • Please arrive at least one hour prior to the ceremony [8 a.m. for Undergraduate, 1 p.m. for Graduate School/Graduate School of Management]. As a reminder, it will take some time to go through security and check MUIDs.
  • The ceremony processional will include the faculty followed by the others in the Stage Party. [Students will not process in but will be directed to be seated with their colleges upon arrival. Students have been instructed to be seated by 8:45 a.m. for the morning program, and 1:45 p.m. for the afternoon program.] Students will be individually recognized and cross the stage during the ceremony.
  • For faculty participating in both the morning and afternoon ceremonies, there will be a light lunch provided.
  • Rented apparel can be returned at Fiserv Forum immediately following the ceremony.

GRADUATE SCHOOL AND GRADUATE SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT (2 p.m. ceremony)

  • The robing room for all faculty will be located in the Auxiliary Locker Room.

DISSERTATION DIRECTORS 

  • After robing, Dissertation Directors should meet their Ph.D. candidates at the Graduate School check-in table in the student check-in area [Jockey Club]. You will both then proceed to the arena where column marshals will direct you to the designated seating section.
  • Please arrive at least one hour prior to the ceremony [1 p.m. for Graduate School/Graduate School of Management]. As a reminder, it will take some time to go through security and check MUIDs, meet your candidate at student check-in, then proceed to the arena where you and your candidate need to be seated by 1:45 p.m.
  • You will carry your Ph.D. candidate’s hood over your right arm and hood them on stage.
  • You will escort your Ph.D. candidate across the stage after their name is announced.
  • You both will return to your seats on the arena floor.

DOCTOR OF NURSING PRACTICE CANDIDATES

  • Doctor of Nursing Practice candidates will wear their hoods as part of their academic regalia.

MASTER’S CANDIDATES

  • Master’s Candidates will wear their hoods as part of their academic regalia.

FOR YOUR REFERENCE

  • The Law School, School of Dentistry and College of Health Sciences professional programs (Physical Therapy and Physician Assistant Studies) will host their own individual ceremonies.
