Hank Aaron Was the 2012 commencement speaker

Baseball great Hank Aaron was Marquette University’s Commencement speaker at the 2012 spring ceremony. As part of the ceremony, Aaron received an honorary doctor of humane letters degree. Aaron holds many of baseball's most distinguished records and continued to work on behalf of racial equality and civil rights after his major league career ended.

Marquette also awarded Sister Mary Miguel Conway, BVM, with an honorary doctor of humane letters degree. Sister Miguel is co-director of the Working Boys’ Center in Quito, Ecuador.
