Caps and Gowns

Click MapQuest Map U.S. Cellular Web Site There is no need to pre-order your academic apparel. However the graduation candidate must pick up his/her apparel in the Alumni Memorial Union, Room 227, on Tuesday, May 15, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. or Wednesday, May 16, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

There is no charge to the graduate for academic apparel and it only takes a few minutes of time. If the candidate cannot pick up his/her own apparel, a friend or a relative may come in his/her place.  Information needed to pick up the cap and gown is the candidate’s name, degree, height and college.

Now that you’re about to become an alum…When picking up your cap and gown, stop by Room 252 of the AMU to register online for MU Connect, Marquette’s online alumni community.  MU Connect offers free alumni e-mail addresses, an online alumni directory, career resources, alumni event information and more.  Everyone who registers will automatically be entered in a drawing for prizes.  The registration is sponsored by the Marquette University Alumni Association.

Please Note: Academic apparel will not be distributed at the Bradley Center

Return of Academic Apparel

Undergraduates may retain their “keepsake” cap and gown. All others must return caps, gowns and hoods to the representative of the cap and gown company immediately following the Commencement program or at the sites of the individual graduation programs in the afternoon. (Tassels may be retained as a keepsake if desired.)

Diplomas

Diplomas for graduates receiving bachelor’s, master’s and professional school degrees will be distributed at the individual college and school programs. Diplomas for Ph.D. and Ed.D. candidates will be distributed at the Bradley Center after the Commencement ceremony in the morning.

Any special arrangements for mailing of diplomas, etc., must be made directly with the Office of the Registrar in Marquette Hall, Room 310. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Graduation Announcements

An announcement from the president of the university will be sent to parents or spouses as indicated by the graduates on forms submitted through their deans’ offices. (There is, however, no limit to the number of family members and friends who may attend. Tickets are not needed.)

The traditional printed graduation announcements are available for purchase in the Marquette Spirit Shop or online through Traditions USA. Please call (414) 288-3050 for assistance.
