| Personal Counseling
All counseling services are free of charge for full time students. Part time students may receive one free session for personal assessment and possible referral to other mental health professionals in the community for further counseling.
Individual Counseling: Professional counselors offer short term counseling to students dealing with a wide variety of personal concerns. Some typical concerns include self esteem issues, relationships, perfectionism, stress and anxiety, loneliness and depression. Students who require extended or longer term therapy may be referred to other mental health services in the community. The actual treatment plan will be determined in an initial assessment interview with a staff person. A safe and non threatening environment is assured and the Counseling Center staff is committed to diversity in the broadest sense. Couples, family and group counseling are also available when appropriate.
Career Counseling: Marquette University Counseling Center offers a variety of services and resources to help students in the beginning stages of career exploration. If you are in the process of choosing a major/career path or would like to confirm that your choices are right for you, consider making an individual career counseling appointment or attending a career counseling workshop. A career counselor can help you learn more about yourself and the options available to you.
Group Counseling: The Counseling Center offers several groups for therapy and support. For a list of current groups, contact the Counseling Center at 414-288-7172.
