About the Center for Real Estate (CRE)

Six years ago, the College of Business Administration initiated efforts to establish a major program in the area of commercial real estate by hiring Dr. Mark Eppli as the Bell Chair in Real Estate. Under his leadership, these efforts have been highly successful, attracting students, outreach, research, and relationship building with the industry.

The CRE was established in 2008 through the efforts of Founding Members who contributed more than $800,000 in initial operating funds. Work continues on building an endowment to permanently fund and operate the CRE.

The CRE was established to generate, disseminate and deepen commercial real estate knowledge on campus, in Milwaukee, throughout the Midwest and on a national level through three key areas:  Teaching, Research and Outreach.  The Center’s vision is to be a nationally recognized leader among applied commercial real estate programs. As the only Jesuit university in the country offering a commercial real estate curriculum, the program is uniquely grounded in a solid foundation of business principles, ethics and an environment that engages students, professionals and academics alike.
