Professional Experience
Laura has been a career services professional since the fall of 1994. She has worked in college career centers in Maine, Ohio, Illinois, Iowa, and at Marquette since January 2002.

Laura values involvement in professional associations and has the opportunity to develop professional relationships with employers and college career practitioners, increased knowledge of cutting-edge programming and resources, and leadership and communication skills that have contributed to her career success.  She is an active member of the Midwest Association of Colleges and Employers where she currently serves as President.

Professional Experience
Prior to starting her Master of Education degree, Courtney worked professionally as a physical therapist and in management at a Fortune 500 Company. While working toward her M.Ed. she was involved in academic advising and career services experiences and, upon completion of her graduate education, joined the Career Services Center at Marquette University. Courtney is excited to encourage students to actively participate in the career decision-making process and believes in providing students with the tools necessary for successful navigation of their career throughout their life.

Professional Experience
Prior to working in higher education, Kristin worked professionally in the advertising industry for seven years in account management. While working toward her M.Ed. at Marquette, she was involved in residence life, orientation and volunteer programming, and upon completion of her graduate education, she joined the Career Services Center at Marquette University. Kristin is excited to serve as the university contact to employers to help connect them with Marquette’s talented students and believes in supporting students and helping them succeed.

Jeremy has been a higher education professional since 2004 with experience in career services, academic advising, and mental health. Prior to his career in higher education, Jeremy worked as a jazz musician in the Milwaukee area and held a variety of positions in local non-profit arts organizations. Jeremy’s passion is to guide students through all stages of the career development process to help them pursue meaningful careers.

Professional Experience
Before transitioning into the field of higher education, Bethany served in the Peace Corps as a micro-enterprise development volunteer in South America. After completing her service, she was employed as a corporate trainee and plant scheduler in the commercial printing industry for nearly five years. Bethany has worked with Upward Bound, the Graduate School and the Career Services Center while pursuing her M.Ed. at Marquette. Bethany looks forward to partnering with students to help them define and achieve their unique career goals.

Professional Experience
While pursuing her M.Ed. in Educational Policy and Leadership, Charonda volunteered in the Career Services Center at Marquette University for her practicum experience. Meeting with students sparked her interest even more than expected and solidified her passion for working with students in the career development aspect. A few months after completing her graduate education, Charonda, joined the CSC team as a Career Counselor. Charonda is now able to aid students in career exploration and decision making, while still staying involved in a positive manner with the community at large. Making a living, while making a difference has been the dream of a life-time.

Professional Experience
Prior to pursuing his Master’s of Science degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education, Joel taught American history and government while also coaching basketball and golf at a Catholic high school in Iowa. As a graduate student, he completed multiple practicum experiences in career services and academic advising while serving as a graduate student within academic support.  Upon finishing graduate school, Joel joined the Marquette University Career Services Center Staff. He looks forward to empowering students with the self-knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to take ownership of their career exploration and job search process, and find meaningful employment.

Prior to her current position in Career Services Center, Denice worked as a Student Financial Services Assistant in the Office of the Bursar. Before joining Marquette University, she worked for AAA Wisconsin Insurance and held licenses in Property and Casualty insurance as well as Life insurance.

Sharon Hansen, Employer Relations and Events Coordinator

Professional Experience
Before coming to Marquette, Sharon was a Guest Teacher in several school districts working with students of every level. She also has experience as an Event and Marketing Coordinator where she had the opportunity to help families with the home building process, coordinate events, and manage marketing strategies. Sharon looks forward to working with the employers, students, and alumni with employer relations and events.

Trained graduate students pursuing careers in counseling and higher education administration are available to counsel students and presents workshops and classroom presentations on career-related topics.

Student Staff

Staff serves as front line for students seeking resume and career services assistance, assists in carrying-out administrative projects such as career fairs, web page, and on campus recruiting.
