A checklist for FRESHMEN:

• Become familiar with student services offered at Marquette University
  
  
• Join a student organization
  
  
• Become familiar with the majors offered at Marquette
  
  
• Enroll in various courses to explore majors
  
  
• Take a Career Planning and Decision Making Course (ARSC 050)
  
  
• Begin self-assessment and identifying majors/careers through career counseling. Start by visiting the Counseling Center.
  
  
• Begin identifying your interests, skills, and values by logging onto DISCOVER, a computerized career guidance system
  
  
• Find professionally-oriented part-time or summer job
  
  
• Engage in volunteer activities and service learning
  
  
• Learn more about careers by engaging in occupational research
