Why are we doing this?

  1. The Career Services Center attempts to keep our database of available candidates as accurate as possible. It does not look good for either you or for us if we send your resume to a company when you have already accepted an offer.
  2. By averaging salary data of our graduates, we are able to tell current students and prospective students what salary range they can expect upon graduation. (Our salary averages for all colleges has been at or above the national average for many years!) This helps you determine your relative value compared to other college students and it helps the university to recruit new students. Also, the more data we gather, the more valid the statistics are that we generate.
  3. The first question new students and parents ask us is "What kind of job can I expect to get with a certain major?" We use the job titles and employers from this survey to develop handouts and web sites that answer this exact question. Your input to this survey helps us keep this data current.
  4. You get graded in your work and so do we! This questionnaire is one way the university has of tracking how well we are doing in assisting our students with finding good jobs after graduation.
