eMarq Information
eMarq is Marquette's system for sending and receiving e-mail, creating contacts and scheduling your calendar online. EMarq is accessed via Marquette’s CheckMarq system.
Checkmarq Information
CheckMarq, as the name implies, helps Marquette students, faculty and staff get things done online. This student information system integrates a number of functions into a Web-based one-stop solution, including admissions inquiry and application, student records (including online registration, grades and schedules), financial aid awards and status checks, student financials, residence life housing and campus news portal.

Help Desk
The IT Help Desk, located in Cudahy Hall, offers assistance to Marquette faculty, staff and students with Marquette hardware and software, CheckMarq, eMarq, network access, virus protection, software training, Desire2Learn and the Marquette phone system.
Audio Visual Equipment
A host of audiovisual and computer equipment is available for classroom use from the Instructional Media Center. Equipment requests need to be made at least 24 hours in advance by going to Johnston Hall 102, sending a request form through intercampus mail (allow two-full days), or online.
Desire2Learn (D2L) Information
Desire2Learn is Marquette’s online courseware used to deliver courses entirely online and to provide online support and supplements for on-campus courses. A course site is created for each class taught at Marquette, and instructors and students are automatically enrolled in a Desire2Learn course when they are registered to teach or take a course. Students and instructors can access the Desire2Learn courseware by logging on using your CheckMarq username and password.
Introductory instructor workshops are available for all Marquette faculty throughout each semester. More advanced information, techniques and resources are available through Certificate in Electronic Learning workshops.
Desire2Learn (D2L) Instructor Training Manual
The D2L Instructor Training Manual provides step-by-step directions for using D2L tools. To access the manual, log in to D2L using your Checkmarq username and password and use the "Instructor Manual" link on the left side of the D2L welcome page, under "D2L Resources."
Computer Labs and Classrooms
Dedicated computer classrooms are available in Cudahy Hall 240 – prior reservations are required. The Cudahy Hall 108 computer lab is also available by reservation for class use. Numerous computer workstations and labs are available across Marquette’s campus.
Laptop Checkout
Laptops are available for short-term checkout at the Memorial Library bridge circulation desk. Laptop availability information is available via Marqcat.
WiFi Access
Wireless network access is available at many locations across the Marquette campus. Instructions for using Marquette’s wireless access are available online. Additional assistance is available via the Help Desk.
Instructional Media Center
The Instructional Media Center, located in Johnston Hall, provides a number of services to support Marquette’s media needs, including audiovisual services, production services, photography services, technical services, and electronic learning resources and support.
Desire2Learn Community
The Desire2Learn Community is a national site promoting collaboration among all Desire2Learn users who wish to share online strategies and best practices, and showcase some of the best ways organizations are using Desire2Learn. The Desire2Learn Community provides clients with the exciting opportunity to participate in engaging discussions for instructors and administrators. The site also provides users with just-in-time training tips, quick refreshers on how to effectively use tools, additional resources and learning aids.
