CTL Multimedia Lab
The showplace of the Center for Teaching and Learning is the 16-station multimedia laboratory. The laboratory is equipped with digital and analog video and audio capturing and editing equipment, numerous graphics and photo manipulation software packages, and other software for developing presentations and projects. The facility contains both Macintosh and Windows-based systems. Faculty and students can utilize the desktops for the production of any materials intended to enhance their teaching/learning experience. >more
Presentation/Distance Learning Classroom
The Center for Teaching and Learning features a state-of-the-art presentation/distance learning classroom. Large screen, rear-projection displays support a variety of computer and media and video conference sources. The classroom seats 32 participants. More than 20 laptops are also available for “hands on” training. As with the entire Center, wireless network connectivity is available.
The classroom is primarily available to support video conference-based courses; the academic training and development needs of the Center and the university; special events; and other occasional uses. It is currently not available for semester-long classroom assignment. >more
Conference room
A 14 seat seminar room marks the western end of the Center for Teaching and Learning. It is equipped for multimedia projection and includes a “portable” video conference system. >more
Equipment Check-out
The Center has 3 “mini DV” format camcorders and 3 digital still cameras available for faculty priority sign-out. Students may also borrow them as they are available. Contact Nicholas La Joie at 288-8808. >more

Internet2, a high-bandwidth network, allows users at geographically distributed sites to collaborate in real time in a shared, simulated environment as if they were in the same physical room. The impact of this technology in education allows faculty to explore new applications and tools, such as complex simulations, remote instrument manipulation, and 3-D visualizations within their courses. >more
