Our Curriculum
The Marquette University School of Dentistry educates and trains
its students to be technically competent, socially sensitive
practitioners of dentistry who adhere to the highest standards
of professional conduct and ethics.
Further, today's dental graduate
must demonstrate solid problem-solving skills, be biologically
oriented and function effectively as a member of the Nation's
health care delivery system.
Curriculum Goals
Our curriculum is based on defined competencies, which are the
endproducts of clinical training and experience that represent
the ability to independently perform or provide a particular,
but complex, service or task.
These competencies also identify
and organize the knowledge and skills that our graduates must
acquire to become competent and caring dentists who treat the
whole patient.
Students who have achieved competence in all areas should be
qualified for the safe, independent practice of dentistry.
