School of Dentistry
is emphasizing the use of technology to support its new
curriculum and community-based experiential learning
initiatives. This
emphasis includes electronic learning environments that
are computer-based in nature (CD-ROM, web, interactive
video/audio).
School of Dentistry established a partnership with DentalXChange in 2000.
This represents the first educational partnership between
dental school and a "dot.com" company and provides
for construction of an online library of undergraduate,
graduate, and continuing education courses. This facilitates
faculty
participation in curriculum development/innovation and
generates revenue streams to support continued program
development.
To date, several individual courses are being completed
as well as an entire geriatric dentistry curriculum.
