Anyone with an interest in being cared for as a private practice patient by a Marquette University School of Dentistry faculty member is welcome. Patients of all ages are seen in our facility, which is contemporary and designed to enhance patient privacy. The Faculty Practice is easily accessible to downtown residents and office workers. However, our patients also come to us from throughout the city and from many other communities in Wisconsin and the Midwest.
Yes. In the dental school’s other clinics, patients are cared for by students who are in training to become dentists. Since students have responsibilities in addition to treating patients and because they are in training, treatment may take an extended period of time. The dentists who work in the Faculty Practice hold full-time teaching positions at MUSoD In contrast to the student clinics, patients can expect an experience similar to what one might find in a private dental office.
For an appointment or for further information about becoming a patient in the Faculty Practice, phone 414.288.0788. Hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. Patients are seen by appointment only.
Fees are consistent with community standards for private practice patients, and in most cases payment is expected on the day of service. Services can be paid for by cash, personal check, Visa or MasterCard. We will file claims for reimbursement for patients who have dental insurance.
We’re easy to find! The dental school’s address is 1801 W. Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee. We are in Room 004 on the lower level. Enter the building through the south doors; take the first floor atrium elevator to the lower level. As you exit the elevator, we are just to your left. The receptionists in the dental school will be happy to direct you to our clinic. They are on the first floor near the patient entrance.
On your first appointment you will need a comprehensive exam and x-rays. If you have x-rays from another dental office please bring them along. If your treatment needs are complex you may need a consultation with one or more specialists, possibly on another day, before your treatment plan is finalized.
