Pediatric Dentistry Clinic
The Pediatric Dentistry Clinic is designed to provide
comprehensive treatment and emergency care for the child patient
under faculty supervision. The
Pediatric Dentistry Clinic accepts patients ranging from age 3 years-old
to 13 years-old. Older patients are referred to the adult clinic
groups.
Overview of Pediatric Services
The Pediatric Dentistry Clinic provides services by both
faculty and pre-doctoral dental students.
Services provided by faculty include consultations and
complete dental treatment under general anesthesia. General anesthesia
cases are performed under an agreement with Children's
Hospital of Wisconsin.
Services provided by students
include:
- Exam/treatment plan
- Oral hygiene instructions
- Caries preventive techniques
such as sealants and fluorides
- Restorative procedures (silver and
white fillings)
- Stainless steel crowns
- Root canals for children
- Emergency appointments (trauma,
pain due to dental infections)
- Space maintenance
Special Cases
Young children with extensive dental needs
are referred to Children’s Hospital for completion of treatment.
The dental treatment is performed by either Dr. Hodgson or Dr. Gonzalez.
Dental Plan Coverage
The Pediatric Dentistry Clinic accepts the following
dental plans:
- Doral United
- Straight T-19
- SEDA
We also accept
Delta Dental Plan but only for Marquette employees.
Emergency Dental Care For Children
During Clinic Hours
Patients are to call the pediatric clinic coordinator
at (414) 288-7273; appointments are handled upon daily student availability.
After Clinic Hours
Patients of record who have an emergency after clinic
hours should call (414) 288-6790.
Hours of Service and Appointments
Appointments for an initial examination can be made by
calling the Pediatric clinic coordinator at (414) 288-7273. Clinic
hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m.
to 4:00 p.m.
