Concelebrated Mass. Academic apparel will not be worn.  Tickets are not needed. Seats are available on a first-come, first served basis. The Mass is expected to end by 6:00 p.m.

School of Dentistry Hooding Ceremony, Gesu Church

(1145 W. Wisconsin Avenue)

Academic Apparel will be worn; however, caps will not be worn.Program will include: Processional by Class of 2014, Welcome, Hooding Ceremony, Dentist Pledge and Adjournment.  Tickets are not needed.  Students should arrive by 6:45 p.m.  Once your family members and guests have been seated, please line up (alphabetically) in the back of the church.


The Hooding Ceremony represents your welcome into the profession of Dentistry.  Students will be asked to nominate faculty and mentors to participate in this ceremony. All individuals participating in the Hooding Ceremony must be dentists and wear academic apparel.

Following the Hooding Ceremony, the Class of 2014 and their guests will be invited to the School of Dentistry for a reception. Refreshments will be served.  The Class will be invited to tour their families and friends through the School of Dentistry.

Commencement, Bradley Center (1001 N. 4th Street)

Graduating seniors should enter through the west entrance of the Bradley Center.  Procession lines will form at 9:15 a.m.  There will be no rehearsal, complete instructions will be provided at the Bradley Center.  Please assemble around the School of Dentistry banner. All candidates will march in the academic procession and be seated during the Commencement ceremony with their class.

Attendance is required of all candidates.  Academic apparel is to be worn (including hats)Tickets are not needed; families and friends are invited to attend.  Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.  It is expected to be over by 11:30 a.m.

School of Dentistry Graduation Luncheon, Pfister Hotel (424 E. Wisconsin Avenue)

Academic apparel is to be worn (hats optional). Luncheon tickets may be purchased at $38.00 each for family and guests ($21.00 each for children).  The members of the Class of 2014 are guests of the School of Dentistry.  Tickets may be purchased from the Office of the Dean beginning Monday, April 7. TICKETS MUST BE PURCHASED BY Monday, April 14. Make checks payable to Marquette University Dental Senior Luncheon (please make sure your telephone number is on the check).  Tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.  If you wish to sit with another member of your class and his or her family, you should come together to purchase your tickets.  A limited number of tickets will be sold to each student.  The menu for the luncheon will be as follows:

Adult Menu ($38.00):

  • Salad: Mixed greens, marinated chick peas, feta, tomatos cucumber ribbons, honey white balasamic
  • Entrée:  Grilled chicken breast with herbed chicken demi glaze, chive whipped yukons and garlicky baby vegetables
  • Dessert:  Pennsylvania carrot cake, salted caramel sauce, crème anglaise
  • Choice of milk, coffee or teas included
  • Freshly baked baskets of breads w/butter

 Adult Vegetarian Entrée ($38.00):

  • Vegetarian Entrée – Pasta Primavera with fresh vegetables

Children’s Menu ($21.00):

  • Fresh fruit cup
  • Baked chicken fingers with French fries
  • Dessert
  • Choice of milk or juice included

Round tables of ten are available with a few tables of 7, 11, and 12 also available. Table selection and reservations will be made at the time you purchase your ticketsPlease remember if you wish to sit with another student that person's tickets must be purchased at the same time.


Extra seating will be available for those who choose not to attend the luncheon, but wish to receive their diplomas.  The program will begin at approximately 1:45 p.m.  You will need to make reservations to obtain program tickets (at no charge) for the number of people in your party who will attend.


Parking:  The Pfister Hotel will provide discounted parking at $3.00 per vehicle, please identify yourself as Marquette University when entering the lot.  Additional parking is located across the street from The Pfister Hotel at the public parking lot ($10.00).


Sleeping Rooms: The Pfister has reserved additional sleeping rooms. The MU rate is $199 for single/double occupancy.



Academic Apparel:


Academic Apparel will be ordered for you. Academic apparel (caps and gowns only) will be distributed at Alumni Memorial Union, Room 157 and 163 on Tuesday, May 13 (10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.) and Wednesday, May 14 (10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.).  If the candidate cannot pick up his/her own apparel, a friend or relative may come in his/her place. Note:  If someone else is picking up your academic apparel, they will need to know they are picking up for a dental graduate (doctoral gown).  There is no charge to the graduate for academic apparel. Hoods will be presented on Saturday, May 17 at the Hooding Ceremony.   Academic apparel will NOT be distributed at the Bradley Center.  Academic Apparel will be worn at Commencement, Hooding Ceremony and Graduation Luncheon.  All caps, gowns and hoods must be returned to the proper receptacles that will be placed in the outer hallway of the Grand Ballroom at the Pfister Hotel (following graduation luncheon on Sunday, May 18).  Tassels may be retained as a keepsake.





A keepsake invitation from the President of the University will be sent to parents or spouses, as indicated by you on forms submitted through our office previously.  Printed graduation announcements will be available in April at the Spirit Shop.





Diplomas are given out at the Pfister Hotel and not the Bradley Center.
