MUSoD, had a celebration honoring Dean Lobb for being the recipient if the
2012 William J. Gies Awards for Innovation - Dental Educator on March 27th.
Dr. William Lobb, Dean, has won the 2012 ADEA Gies Award for
Innovation-Dental Educator, to be awarded at the ADEA meting March 19 in Orlando.
Dr. Toni Roucka published an ethics article “To treat or not to treat…that is the question” in
the March/April issue of ACADEMY OF GENERAL DENTISTRY.
Dr. Alberta Abena, Dr. Gay Derderian, Dr. Richard Hagner, Dr. Moawia Kassab, Dr. Thomas Smithy, and Dr. Joseph Vitolo have been promoted to Clinical Associate Professor effective July 1, 2012.
Dr. Brian Hodgson and Dr. Dawei Liu have been promoted to Associate Professor with Tenure effective July 1, 2012.
Dr. Cesar Gonzalez, Pedodontics, recently completed his American Board of
Pediatric Dentistry Certification process.
Dr. Steve Koutnik, Graduate Resident, Prosthodontics, was awarded a 3M 
scholarship to attend the Dawson Academy, located at St. Petersburg Beach,
Florida, in February.
Dr. Aaron Cho was recently published in The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 
featured with the cover article in the January 2012 issue. The article is entitled:“The effect of multiple firings on the marginal integrity of pressable ceramic single crowns.”
