Dr. Jose Bosio receives Teaching Fellowship Program Award
Dr. Jose Bosio was the recipient of the 2008-2009 Full-Time Faculty Teaching Fellowship Program Award from AAO.
Dr. Bosio also published an article in the World Journal of Orthodontics titled, "The Incidence of Maxillary Sinus Retention Cysts in Orthodontic Patients," 2009; 10:e7-e8
Dr. Denis Lynch receives UCFS Dental Alumni Medal of Honor

Dr. Akshi Arora, a student in the Dental Biomaterials Graduate Program has been awarded a Rev. John P. Raynor, S.J. Fellowship. Receiving this fellowship is based entirely on merit. Congratulations are extended to Akshi and her mentors Dr. David Berzins, director of Dental Biomaterials, and Dr. Jeff Toth, professor of Biomedical Engineering.

Congratulations to the winners of the 2009 Dental Research Day Presentation competition! First, second and third place winners were awarded in three different categories: pre-doctoral students, post-doctoral clinical category, and post-doctoral laboratory category. First place winners recieved $500, second place winners recieved $300, and third place winners recieved $200.

Lawmakers Anticipate Success for Statewide Smoking Ban
Dr.Toni Roucka, Dental Director, Marquette University School of Dentistry, provides leadership for the tobacco cessation efforts at Marquette’s Dental School. Each year, a core team of senior dental students are identified, trained and help implement tobacco cessation’s 5 A’s (Ask, Advise, Assess, Assist, Arrange) with clients. Dr. Roucka provided oversight of the program evaluation which includes both process and outcome measurements.
