Mission
Alcohol Initiatives and the Office of Student Development support initiatives to provide entertainment options to students during times when high risk drinking often occurs.
Funding support is available for programs or events that take place Thursday, Friday or Saturday nights between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m. Additionally, funding may be available for events on other days and times, provided that these events are designed to provide a healthier alternative to a high-risk drinking event. Examples could include a pre-Marquette Madness, a St. Patrick's Day party, or events occurring the evening prior to a day off of school or events scheduled during pre-gaming hours.
Certain guidelines for events that qualify for funding do apply. Funding is provided through a CHOICES grant from the NCAA. Funding is limited; therefore organizations are encouraged to apply for funding early in the academic year.

Student leadership awardsThe Division of Student Affairs presents leadership awards annually to recognize student contributions to the mission and activities of the various student affairs areas. Students are nominated by staff from the division and throughout the university and are selected by a committee representing each of the student affairs departments and Campus Ministry. Awards are presented at a program held each year in April. Read more about the student leadership awards. |
