The history of the College of Education is a long and rich one. For over 95 years, the college has helped prepare individuals to work as professionals in public and private school settings.

What's New

mke roots logoThis summer, MKE Roots is hosting a Summer Institute for 25 local teachers where participants will hear from community speakers on Milwaukee’s local history, participate in workshops on placed-based education methods, collaborate on curriculum with fellow educators, and experience Milwaukee’s history and culture in a new way through guided excursions. The institute will take place on Marquette University's campus and around our city and each institute participant will receive a $1000 stipend.  

Applications for the 2024 Summer Institute are now open and any K-12 teacher in any discipline is welcome to apply. Applications will be accepted until May 1st, however applications received before April 1st will receive priority. You can find the application here
