Foundations of Early Childhood

This 6 week graduate level course will explore child development and both normal and abnormal behavior in children ages 0-6, assessment and diagnosis of mental health disorders in early childhood; implications of poverty, violence, and cultural influences; intervention strategies; and implications for research, advocacy, and policy.
Course also provides a foundation for students interested in trauma informed care for young children.
Meets twice a week for a total of 12 sessions.
