Marquette's scientist/practitioner doctoral program in counseling psychology is accredited by the American Psychological Association. It focuses on building the skills necessary to become: counseling psychologists in schools, hospitals, private practice and other environments; administrators; or academic psychologists. The program also engages students in the research process so they will be able to contribute to our understanding of therapy process, treatment effectiveness, and normal and abnormal human development, as well as many other areas. The program is offered by the Department of Counselor Education and Counseling Psychology within the College of Education.
