The College of Education will honor 138 students at its annual graduation recognition event held on Sunday, May 20, 2011 at the Pabst Theater, 144 E. Wells St.
The keynote address at the event will be given by Wisconsin State Superintendent, Dr. Tony Evers.
Dr. Evers has dedicated his life to the advancement of public education in Wisconsin. Prior to his election as superintendent, Evers served eight years as the deputy state superintendent of public instructions, working to ensure a quality education for students across Wisconsin and supporting parents and educators. He has served in schools and lived in communities across Wisconsin, from Tomah to Oakfield, Verona to Oshkosh.
Born and raised in Plymouth, Wisconsin, Dr. Evers graduated from Plymouth High School and earned his bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree in educational administration from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
