The Greater Milwaukee Catholic Education Consortium (GMCEC) was awarded $2500 by the Edward D. Simmons Religious Commitment Fund. The fund distributes modest grants to finance small projects or provide seed money for programs or events that deepen the religious nature of Marquette University.
The GMCEC award will be used to underwrite the costs of a spring 2009 faith formation workshop for Catholic school leaders. The workshop, designed for Catholic K-12 leaders at the faculty, administrative, and board levels, will focus on how increasingly ecumenical school communities are impacting Catholic identity in Catholic schools. Additional information about this event will be forthcoming.
The Greater Milwaukee Catholic Education Consortium (GMCEC) is a collaboration among Marquette University, Alverno College, Cardinal Stritch University, Mt. Mary College, and Marian College. The GMCEC will strive to marshal the academic resources and professional expertise of the Catholic higher education institutions in order to build enduring connections that strengthen and sustain quality P-16 Catholic education.
