TEACHING
Student teaching is the capstone experience in the professional teacher education sequence at Marquette.
Through this experience, students are able to test ideas, receive feedback from professionals, and carry the full responsibilities of a teacher. Planning, teaching, managing, and reflecting over an extended period of time enable pre-professional teachers to recognize more clearly the responsibilities as well as the joys of teaching.
The Marquette University College of Education has made a commitment to intellectual excellence, to the Judeo-Catholic tradition, and to service to others. Marquette has identified itself as an urban institution and has committed itself to service in urban areas, especially the Milwaukee urban area.
For the above reasons, student teachers will be placed
in a public or private school in the Milwaukee area.
Student teaching placements are arranged through the
Director of Student Placements.
