Dr. Jack Augenstein, former Dean of the School of Education, has been appointed by Archbishop Timothy Dolan to the position of Interim Director of Education for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.  Archbishop Dolan hopes to utilize Dr. Augenstein’s experience, reputation, and status to assist in Archdiocesan reorganization efforts. He will begin serving in his new capacity on July 1st, 2006.

Dr. Augenstein retired from the School of Education after 43 years in full-time education including four years as dean of the school.  He is currently conducting research and writing a history of Catholic school superintendents and their national organization.  He is also President of a nonprofit board, Creative Sharp Presentations, a literacy program centered on the arts for grades 2-5.
