Released: 9/14/06
The School of Education would like to extend congratulations to the department of Counseling and Educational Psychology for its recent national accreditation success.
Specifically, the Ph.D. Program in Counseling Psychology has again received full accreditation for a seven-year period from the American Psychological Association. This decision on the part of APA speaks highly of the talents and efforts of the department faculty and students along with the various administrators who support our program.
In its report to the university, APA cited the following strengths of the counseling psychology program:
- High quality faculty who are dedicated to teaching and research
- Strong practicum sites, which provide students with a rich variety of experiences and access to a diverse pool of clients
- A well-integrated commitment to diversity – both in program curriculum and mission
Many thanks to the faculty, staff, and students who continue to ensure that COEP stands out as a shining example in the counseling community.
