Sharon Kayne Chaplock and her partner, John M. Chaplock were awarded first prize in the Alumni category for their business plan proposal on April 17 at the Awards dinner of the Fourth Annual Kohler Center for Entrepreneurship Business Plan Competition.  The team's submission, a company called Ready Recipes, provides a recipe look-up service plan using cell phone and wireless technology.  The team received a cash award and plaque.

The competition is sponsored by Marquette University’s College of Business Administration, The Coleman Foundation, and the Golden Angels Network in addition to the Kohler Center. It provides a learning environment in which entrepreneurs develop their business ideas over the course of six months and receive feedback from a panel of judges comprised of angel investors and community business leaders.  Cash prizes totaling $15,000 were awarded at the dinner.

Sharon Kayne Chaplock is Projects Administrator in the School of Education. She is also a doctoral student in EDPL and an adjunct member of the faculty.
