Four SOE faculty were recently named as recipients of special professional development funding offered through the Marquette University Graduate School and the Office of the Provost.  As a group, these faculty members successfully competed for nearly $30,000 of support for their scholarship.

The recipients and their awards were as follows:

  • Dr. Lisa Edwards, Assistant Professor of Counseling Psychology, received a Summer Faculty Fellowship;
  • Dr. Kathleen Clark, Assistant Professor of Education and Director of the Hartman Literacy and Learning Center, received both a Summer Faculty Fellowship and a Faculty Research Grant;
  • Dr. John Kuykendall, Assistant Professor of Education, received a Research Development Program award; and,
  • Dr. Martin Scanlan, Assistant Professor of Education, received a Summer Faculty Fellowship, a Faculty Research Grant and a Research Development Program Award.

Depending on the respective award program, this welcome support can provide time in the summer to devote to research and writing activities, fiscal resources to offset scholarly expenses, special external mentoring, and training in grant funding acquisition.

The School of Education is proud of our faculty for garnering these awards, and grateful to the University for providing these important resources.
