Dr. Sarah Knox Named Recipient of Outstanding Early Career Achievement Award

The School of Education is pleased to announce that Dr. Sarah Knox, Associate Professor in the Counseling Psychology program, has received the Outstanding Early Career Achievement Award from the Society of Psychotherapy Research. This early career award is granted to individuals whose careers span less than 9 years, but who have demonstrative productivity in research and have made scientific contributions to psychotherapy research.
Dr. Knox has 25 journal articles and chapters to her credit. Her focus has been on therapy process defined broadly, with studies of therapist self-disclosure, internal representation by clients of their therapists, gift-giving in therapy, therapists’ experiences when clients commit suicide, client insight, and addressing race in cross-cultural dyads. She is an active member of the Society of Psychotherapy Research, presenting her work at annual conferences and serving on the Editorial Board of Psychotherapy Research.
