Lake Valley Camp Seeks Associate Director

Associate Director – Program Development

Lake Valley Camp, which is now in its fourth year of existence, is a privately funded youth development organization that offers exceptional summer camp experiences and year-round programs and support to participants and their families. 

Through this multi-stage program, participants gain greater independence, increased self-confidence, and leadership skills that will help them achieve their own unique potential.  Most participants live in Milwaukee, and all live in underserved communities. 

The Position:   The Associate Director will be responsible for the development and implementation of the year-round programs that provide a resource and support to the camp participants and their families.

The Associate Director will be the contact person for the participants, and will establish relationships with the participants and their schools in order to assist them with life’s challenges throughout the year. 

Camp Philosophy:  Lake Valley Camp has a very simple yet profound mission.  It is to instill in the participants a Respect of Self; a Respect of Others; and a Respect for the Community.

The Person:  The individual who will be selected for the Associate Director role will be someone who wants to make a difference in what they do, and has a genuine interest in helping develop and mentor the participants and their families in order for them to live productive, fulfilling lives.

This person will have good organizational skills, along with communication skills that are first rate.  Someone who has a background in counseling, education, and / or social services, and experience in dealing with underserved communities would be well suited for this position.

The key for the individual selected for this role will be commitment.  Someone who has a passion for working with others in order to help them achieve a better life, will find this role most fulfilling. 

Compensation:  Salary is open depending upon qualifications, but will be made attractive for the right individual.  This is a year round position, and the compensation will reflect that commitment.
