Mike Madson Receives 2005 APPIC Research Award

Mike Madson, a doctoral candidate in Counseling Psychology at Marquette, is one of two recipients of the 2005 APPIC Research Award (*Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers). The award is for his dissertation research regarding clinical supervision, and it will be published in article form in the APA journal, Psychology of Addictive Behaviors.

Mike will receive a plaque along with a monetary award to be presented at the APPIC Business Meeting at the American Psychological Association meeting in Washington DC, on August 18. He will be graduating with his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology this August, and then joining the faculty in the Department of Psychology at Southern Mississippi University.

 

*The Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Centers (APPIC) is an educational, non-profit organization with the mission of enhancing internship and postdoctoral training programs in professional psychology. Members are independent agencies conducting or sponsoring internship or postdoctoral training programs, with over 700 programs represented. The Association of Psychology Internship Centers (APIC) was formed in 1968 to bring order to the process of internship selection by publishing a directory of programs and to begin the development of national intern selection procedures. In 1991, APIC changed its name to APPIC adding postdoctoral training programs.
