Peer Education Advising Resource Program
The Peer Education Advising Resource program was created to assist new Education students in becoming acclimated to the College of Education and Marquette University. PEAR volunteers are available throughout the academic year to first-year students to answer advising questions and to assist with College of Education sponsored events.
PEAR Student Volunteers:
- Attend an organizational meeting in the spring
- Attend and help with the COE New Student Orientation sessions
- Contact assigned new Education students at least twice throughout the semester
- Provide appropriate correspondence through the COE email account and PEAR Advising Facebook page
- Coordinate with the COE Student Council to plan other events, such as social activities
- Are available during Registration to answer questions and help students plan their schedules
- Participate in at least one of the following events: Discovery Days, Scholarship Day, or Sophomore/Junior Open House
Qualifications
All PEAR volunteers:
- Have been at Marquette for at least two semesters
- Maintain a minimum 3.0 overall GPA
- Possess excellent communication skills
- Have the desire to help new students
- Are available to work a minimum of 5 hours/week
