Annual Job Survey

Once again, it's time to send you our annual survey for your anticipated Co-op job openings in 2008. This coming spring semester, our sophomore engineering Co-op applicants will begin submitting resumes and interviewing for Co-op positions beginning either next summer (May, 2008), next fall (August, 2008), or even in January 2009. . .and your completion and return of the enclosed job survey form will generate these Co-op job opportunities for them.
Overall recruiting procedures will be the same as in past years. All potential Co-op employers are invited to come to our campus and interview students; however, those who are unable to schedule a campus visit are encouraged to post their Co-op openings with us and resumes submitted by interested students will then be electronically forwarded to them. For these "electronic referral" postings, it is particularly important that Co-op job descriptions be furnished to us, so our students will know the kinds of jobs for which they're applying. Although we post Co-op jobs throughout the year, spring semester is the best time to recruit for all three Co-op start dates since our candidates are still uncommitted.
Whether you need Co-op students for an on-going program, the re-start of a suspended program, or you’re initiating a new Co-op program, I strongly urge you to review the credentials of our candidates who, I feel, have the high caliber and maturity that you’re seeking. Regardless of your
circumstances, please complete and return the enclosed Recruitment Survey Form promptly so our placement process for spring semester can be planned and arranged. Please note that this form can also be completed and submitted electronically via our web site, click here to complete form.
I look forward to working with you in 2008 and hope you and I can generate many new Co-op placements for our students.
Finally, although my primary concern is to develop Co-op job opportunities for our Co-op applicants, I also post summer-only employment opportunities; therefore, I would appreciate receiving information about any summer employment/internship opportunities you have available at your organization.
Sincerely,
Susan J. Michaelson, Assistant Dean
Director of Engineering Cooperative Education
