Marquette Engineering will have an informational booth at the first-ever STEMfest; inspiring children to be excited about Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.

Centennial Celebration of Women at Marquette

CELEBRATE 100 YEARS OF WOMEN AT MARQUETTE

In 1909, Marquette University became the first Catholic university in the world to offer co-education as part of its regular undergraduate program. Since that time, the role of women at Marquette has changed and expanded dramatically, with women now making up more than 50 percent of the student body.

During the 2009-10 school year, Marquette will celebrate the 100th anniversary of this landmark event in the university’s history. Click here to learn more about the anniversary celebration.

The mission of the Engineering Outreach Programs at Marquette University is to enhance the STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) skills of children and adults, and better prepare them for the challenges of competing in a global economy driven by innovation.

FIRST Robotics
FIRST is a national engineering contest that not only encourages engineering, science and technology but also promotes “gracious professionalism.” 

Badger State Science Fair
This is the 3rd year that Marquette has held the BSSEF event and participation was up 250% from the previous year.  The BSSEF is one of the states primary vehicles to motivate students to study science, technology, engineering and math. Click here for more information.

Rube Goldberg Machine Contest
The Rube Goldberg Machine Contest™© is named after the Pulitzer Prize winning artist Rube Goldberg whose inventions satirized new technologies. rube goldbergStudents of all ages are participating in engineering, transforming everyday material into their own wacky and innovative machines.
