Undergraduate students, on a limited basis, may carry in excess of 20 semester hours if their cumulative Marquette GPA is 3.0 or higher. The dean's office will not normally approve of an overload unless there is consultation and approval of the student's advisor. Forms for this approval are available through the college office.
Please note that an additional charge will be assessed per credit hour for more than 19 credits.
AFROTC, AROTC and NROTC students may be required by their program to carry in excess of 19 hours and may do so if their academic performance is satisfactory.
Students in summer sessions must petition for credit loads in excess of eight hours in each module or 16 hours for the entire summer term.
Additional information can be found online in the schedule of classes (see index of registration information — maximum credit load).
