ENGL 55. Topics in Literature and Culture

A thematically-focused introduction to literature, wherein students learn about literary forms and history, master analytical skills, and improve their
critical writing. Course emphasis varies, but could focus on such topics as Literature and Social Justice, Literature and Ethics, Literature and Religion, Literature and Science, Literature and Art, etc. Readings are typically drawn from the British, American, or Anglophone traditions, reflecting various genres and periods.

Prereq: ENGL 1 or equiv and ENGL 2 or equiv..
