The NHSC offers a competitive scholarship program designed for students committed to providing primary health care in communities of greatest need. Scholarship recipients serve where they are most needed upon completion of their training. To be eligible, you must be a U.S. citizen enrolled, or accepted for enrollment, in a fully accredited Family nurse practitioner program (master’s degree in nursing, post-master's or post-baccalaureate certificate), nurse-midwifery program (master's degree in nursing, post-master's or post-baccalaureate certificate), physician assistant program (certificate, associate, baccalaureate, or master's program), or Dental school. Northern Illinois Society of Human Resource Mgmt

Open to students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in a human resource or related field. Must have completed two courses in major, and a minimum of 24 credit hours at the time of applying. Must be currently enrolled for 15 credit hours. Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 Applicants must demonstrate outstanding leadership qualities and/or commitment to community service, both on and off campus. NRA Civil Rights Defense Fund

Third Year Law Student Scholarship Writing Contest- Open to all individuals who are law students at the date of submission and who have not been previously admitted to practice law in the U.S. Must be in good standing as a third year student in the Fall 2008 term. Scholarships will be awarded to law students who submit papers on the constitutional right to keep and bear arms. First place receives $12,500 toward tuition, second place receives $5,000 and third place receives $2,500. Papers must be of quality suitable for publication in a law review or journal and cannot have been previously published. The author’s full name, address, and phone numbers, as well as a brief discourse on the author’s legal education should accompany entries. Citations should conform with The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation, current edition. All entries become the property of the NRA Civil Rights Defense Fund. Orphan Foundation of America

Open to students who have been in foster care for one consecutive year at the time of their 18th birthday or high school graduation OR have been adopted or taken into legal guardianship out of foster care after their 16th birthday OR have lost both parents to death before the age of 18 and not been subsequently adopted. Created in response to the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. Open to children of those who were killed or permanently disabled as a result of the attacks, and who are enrolled as full-time undergraduate students. Thomas B. Jones & Grace Stevenson Jones Charitable Foundation

The Foundation was created in furtherance of Grace Stevenson Jones’ lifelong interest of promoting and encouraging higher education for undergraduate students from Grant, Iowa, and Lafayette counties in Wisconsin. Their foundation is offering $1,500 and $3,000 scholarships. Application materials must reach the National Bank & Trust Company of Sycamore postmarked no later than March 1, 2008. Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium

The WSGC is a NASA-funded program dedicated to using the excitement and vision of space science and aerospace science to equip the citizens of WI with the math, science, and technology tools they need to thrive in the next century.
