Notice to Alternative Loan Borrowers:
The Marquette University Office of Student Financial Aid wants to encourage you to apply early if you are going to reapply for an alternative loan for the 2008-09 school year. Due to the recent sub-prime mortgage loan debacle, lenders are either getting out of the alternative loan business or tightening up credit criteria. If you are going to apply for an alternative loan for 2008-09, it is in your best interest to apply now.
Please apply directly with the lender of your choice online. It is preferable to apply directly with the lender you borrowed through previously so that you make repayments to only one lender. If that lender no longer offers alternative loans, please consult the appropriate alternative loan comparison chart below:
