Wisconsin Visually Handicapped/Hearing Impaired Program Grant (WVH/HIP)

Eligibility Criteria

    1. Resident of Wisconsin determined by Higher Educational Aids Board (HEAB)
    2. Undergraduate
    3. Must show financial need
    4. Have sight or hearing impairment as certified by a physician and approved by the Higher Educational Arts Board (HEAB)

Amounts & Selection Process

Awards range from $250-$1,800 per academic year. The State of Wisconsin funds the program, selects eligible students, and determines the amount of each student's grant.

Application Process

  1. File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  2. Submit a Visually Handicapped/Hearing Impaired Certificate form to HEAB; forms available from our office or HEAB.

Renewal Process

Awards are renewed only if the student continues to meet eligibility requirements and funds are available at the time that the application is complete. Visually handicapped /hearing impaired application must be completed each year. Awards can be received for a maximum of 10 terms.
