William Wiener, James Holstein, and William Kurz, all current or former members of the University P&T Committee will discuss: The P&T Dossier: What goes into a dossier and how it’s collected The life course of the dossier: Where does the dossier go after it leaves the dept? How long is the trip? Who represents the dossier? The P&T decision: What kind of vote is required? When it’s borderline, what’s the nature of the debate? Writing Teaching and Research Statements for the Tenure Dossier Friday, April 4, 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Alumni Memorial Union, Room 254 Dr. Stephen Merrill, Professor of Mathematics, will give examples and pointers to help you write the research and teaching statements required for your tenure dossier. Dr. Merrill has served on his area P&T committee and on the University P&T committee. Because some FMP sessions are offered every 2 years or so, this would be a good workshop for those who are going up for tenure in 2008-09 or 2009-10.
