TEACHING MAJOR IN LATIN :

Thirty credit hours beyond the intermediate level, including courses LATI 55, 56, 110, 134, 170, 174, 175, 182, and six additional credit hours in other upper division Latin courses.

TEACHING MINOR IN LATIN :

Fifteen credit hours beyond the intermediate level, including courses LATI 55, 56, 182, and six additional credit hours in other upper division Latin courses exclusive of courses in translation.

Course Required for Teaching Major or Minor:

FOLA 162 Methods of Teaching a Second Language 4 sem. hrs.

Theory and technique of classroom presentation, in addition to clinical experience in high school or college setting. Required of all foreign language teaching majors and minors. Clinical experience requirement: three hours per week for a total of 40 hours. Offered alternate years. Prereq: Either EDUC 079 or EDUC 095; "Advanced Low" performance on the Oral Proficiency Interview, and Admission to College of Education required.
