II. Addressing the Charge (continued) 3. Part III of the Charge Part III of the Charge required that the Task Force prepare a report on its findings and conclusions. It was also necessary that the report include a plan, with recommendations, to address any inappropriate gender differences. Fr. Wild did not impose a deadline for completion of the Task Force activities. At a Task Force meeting on June 6, 2000, the Task Force agreed that December 1, 2000 was a reasonable target date for submission of an Interim Report to Fr. Wild. The purpose of submitting an Interim Report was to provide Fr. Wild with an opportunity to respond with comments to the conclusions, the recommendations and the action plan contained within the Interim Report. The Final Report will include consideration of Fr. Wild's comments.40 At the Task Force meeting on September 27, 2000, the Task Force agreed to a format for the Final Reports of the Task Force Subcommittees. That format included the following: (1) findings, both positive and negative; (2) identification of any inappropriate gender differences; (3) identification of any gender equity issues emanating from University processes and procedures (or lack of same); (4) proposed recommendations designed to address identified "inappropriate gender differences" and/or equity issues; and (5) a proposed plan of action. The Task Force agreed that November 1, 2000 was a reasonable target date for submission of final reports of the Task Force Subcommittees. At the September 27, 2000 meeting, the Task Force agreed to the following process for completing part III of the Charge: "(1) The Task Force will review the final subcommittee reports along with the findings, recommendations and plans for actions and adopt the subcommittees' findings as those of the Task Force; (2) The Task Force will then discuss the proposed recommendations offered by the subcommittee reports with a view towards reaching a consensus on the recommendations of the Task Force; (3) The Task Force will then agree on a plan to offer Fr. Wild that specifically addresses the 'inappropriate gender differences,' along with any other gender equity concerns identified by the Task Force."41 In a series of meetings from October 31, 2000 through November 2, 2000, Task Force Chair Williams and Task Force member Snow wrote most of the Introduction to the Interim Report, assembled the final reports of the Task Force Subcommittees, compiled Task Force documents into a series of appendices, and began constructing a Bibliography for the Interim Report. In a series of meetings on November 8, 11, 17, 22 and 27, the Task Force met and reached consensus on its findings, recommendations, and plan of action. The Interim Report was submitted to Fr. Wild by the December 1, 2000 deadline.
