Advancement Events Manager

 

This individual will work in Donor Relations to provide leadership, professional expertise and direction in the execution of special cultivation and stewardship events.  The Advancement Events Manager will advance campaign priorities and the work of development directors while engaging donors in key constituencies. High professional standards and procedures for production of events are necessary to keep with the image and reputation of Marquette University with an emphasis on attention to detail, protocol and etiquette.  The successful candidate will possess strong collaborative skills to partner with the Vice President, Campaign and Development teams of Advancement to map strategic direction on key donor constituencies and to create an annual calendar of special events that maximize impact and advance donor engagement, stewardship and campaign awareness.  The appropriate level of event and strategic planning involvement from the Donor Relations team will be determined by the Advancement Events Manager.  Specific responsibilities include: drive campaign focused events; leverage existing annual events; develope, plan and implement new signature donor recognition events to engage key prospect segments; collaborate and coordinate with advancement and campus departments to create and implement custom stewardship plans for key stakeholders; plan and coordinate event arrangements including content and development of program outline, management and tracking of invitations, etc.; work with Office of Marketing and Communication, University Special Events and the President’s Office; responsibly plan with a fiscal budget; prepare pre- and post-event analysis and assess opportunities to recommend and implement improvement; and prepare year-end events reports.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree required in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or other similar background with six years of experience in alumni relations, development, public relations or a related field.  The successful candidate will have acquired the skills necessary to coordinate a variety of special events and administer related activities.  This position does require the ability and willingness to work outside the nine to five business hours as needed for special events, as well as the ability to travel on a limited basis to support stewardship events.
